If your submission has been rejected or unsuccessfully submitted three times, you will be required to use one of the alternative options: (1) appear in person to file the documents over the counter at the Chicago or Rockford office, (2) drop the documents in the physical drop box in the Chicago or Rockford office, or (3) mail the documents to the Chicago or Rockford office. If you come to the Courthouse, our staff will be happy to assist you during normal business hours. Please ensure that all required documents and information are complete before arriving. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. The Electronic Drop Box option is available for parties without an attorney. Such parties may use this service to submit documents for filing with the Northern District of Illinois. In most instances, documents will be processed within 24 hours or by the next business day. New case submissions may not receive a case number until the next business day.
