Installment Information

A voluntary petition by an individual will be accepted for filing if accompanied by the debtor's signed application stating that the debtor is unable to pay the filing fee except in installments. The application must state the proposed dates and amounts of the installments and that until the filing fee is paid in full, the debtor will not make any additional payment or transfer any additional property to an attorney or any other person for services in connection with the case.

The clerk will enter, on behalf of the judge to whom the case is assigned, an order granting leave to pay the filing fee in installments as long as the following conditions are met:

a) fifty percent of the filing fee be paid no later than 60 days after the petition date
b) the fee be paid in no more than four installments and
c) the final installment be paid no later than 120 days after the petition date.

If these terms are not met, the application will be forwarded to the assigned Judge for review and entry of an appropriate order.
