Effective May, 12, 2015, you can file a Request for Issuance of an Alias Summons through CM/ECF. This new event is located under the Adversary menu, category, Complaint and Summons. Filing this event will automate the issuance of an Alias Summons.

Request for Issuance of an Alias Summons is a paperless event which does NOT require a PDF. Filers will select the defendant(s), schedule the Status Hearing, and relate to the Complaint, Amended Complaint, or Third Party Complaint. CM/ECF will automatically generate the Alias Summons as the next docket entry.

After you file the Request, two Notices of Electronic Filing (NEFs) will display. You must scroll down to view each notice. The first notice will be the receipt for the Request for Issuance of Alias Summons. The second notice contains a link to the electronically issued Alias Summons. Click on the hyperlink to view, print or save the Alias Summons for issuance on the defendant(s) via PACER.

Summons Service Executed
Reminder – After you have served the Alias Summons, file the Summons Service Executed, which should contain a copy of the Alias Summons and the certificate of service.
