Beginning this  week, we are piloting  a change  to CM/ECF which will prevent the filing of a motion on a day that the Judge is not sitting. If you choose  a date that the Judge is not sitting, you will see the following message and the system will not allow you to continue.

WARNING...
You have selected a date that this Judge is NOT sitting.
Please GO BACK, select a different date and edit the PDF, as needed.

You will need to choose another date and correct the date on your Notice of Motion pdf  before filing.

If you need to file the Notice of Motion with a date that the  Judge  is not sitting because  it has been served, please immediately  file an Amended Notice of Motion  for  a correct date.  

Before filing any motion, always check the Judge's  schedule  to verify that the date is available and correct for the type and chapter  of your case.  

This modification is being implemented to improve  the accuracy of our dockets and reduce the number of Amended Notices of Motion that  attorneys need to file.  

At this time, this  change only applies to  motions filed in Chicago  before Judge Hollis, Judge Doyle,  and Judge Barnes.  It will be expanded to other Judges at a later  date.
