IMPORTANT: Court Proceedings during COVID-19 Public Emergency (Third Amended Order)

Monday, September 21, 2020

This Third Amended Order makes important changes to the procedures of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The Third Amended General Order alters the previous General Order in several ways:

1.  On October 13, 2020, the Bankruptcy Court will cease using CourtSolutions as its platform for motion calls.  Instead, the court will use Zoom for Government or AT&T Teleconference, at the judge’s discretion.  Information will be available on the individual judge’s page on the court’s web site.

2.  Attached to the Order are two notice of motion forms, one for Zoom for Government and one for AT&T Teleconference. All motions must be noticed for presentment using the applicable form. If a motion has already been filed and noticed for presentment on or after October 13, 2020, an amended notice of motion must be filed and served using the applicable form.

3.  A new paragraph 5 has been added setting out protocols for remote motion calls. The remaining paragraphs of the Order have been renumbered.

Please see Third Amended General Order No. 20-03, effective October 13, 2020, for details.
