Fifth Revised Administrative Order No. 17-02 - Assignment of Eastern Div. Cases

Wednesday, May 25, 2022

The court has issued a Fifth Revised Administrative Order No. 17-02 governing the assignment of Eastern Division cases. The Administrative Order has been revised to be consistent with the hybrid in-person/video motion practice allowed under the amended Local Rules once the Covid public health emergency ends.

Because the post-Covid motion practice will permit video appearances on all motions and set matters, the court’s outlying county calls will no longer be heard in the outlying counties.  The court will continue to hold the same outlying county calls it now holds, and designated judges will continue to hear them on designated days.  But the judges will no longer travel to those counties for the calls.  Lawyers will be able to appear for outlying county motions and set matters either in person (at the Dirksen Courthouse in Chicago) or by video using Zoom for Government.
