Electronic Self-Representation (eSR) | LIVE on Monday, November 8, 2021

Monday, November 8, 2021

Beginning Monday, November 8, 2021, people who live in the Northern District of Illinois and do not have an attorney will have the option of submitting their bankruptcy petitions through our electronic self-representation (eSR) system. eSR is an online tool to help people prepare a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy petition when they have decided to file bankruptcy without an attorney.

IMPORTANT WARNING:  If you are filing bankruptcy to delay or stop a foreclosure proceeding (or for some other emergency purpose), eSR may not be the best option.  eSR may delay the filing of your case for several days until the court receives all the items necessary to complete your filing.

Emergency new case filings only: call (773) 495-5842 or (312) 543-5460
