Official Form 1340 (Application for Payment of Unclaimed Funds) has been amended, effective December 1, 2023.  Because the Official Form has been amended, local forms for unclaimed funds applications have also been amended. The local form application (Form U-1b) has been changed, and a new notice of motion/certificate of service form (Form U-1a) replaces Form G-3 for unclaimed funds applications. The Unclaimed Funds Instructions also have several small changes.

On January 1, 2024, Judge Cox will replace Judge Goldgar as Chief Bankruptcy Judge. That means unclaimed funds applications noticed for presentment after January 1, 2024, must be noticed for presentment to Judge Cox.  Judge Cox will hear unclaimed funds applications on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m.
