The Bankruptcy Court congratulates five bankruptcy lawyers who will be honored on May 1, 2019, at the District Court's Twentieth Annual Awards for Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service.

Matthew Gensburg (Gensburg, Calandriello & Kanter, P.C.), William Barrett (Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP), and Catherine Steege (Jenner & Block) will receive Excellence in Public Interest Service awards for their creation of a charitable foundation that will raise money to help fund the Eastern Division's help desk.

C. David Ward (Illini Legal Services, Ltd.) and Mary Ann Leuthner (Prairie State Legal Services, Inc.) will receive Excellence in Pro Bono Public Service awards for their work representing debtors in the Western Division.
