Notice Regarding Participation by Zoom in the Western Division

Zoom for Government allows for appearance by telephone only, or online using a computer, smartphone, or tablet with a stable internet connection. Only parties and their counsel may appear for presentment of the motion electronically using Zoom for Government. All others must appear in person.

To participate by Zoom:

  1. Go to www.zoomgov.com and click "Join a meeting"
  2. Enter the Meeting ID (160 291 5226) and click “Join”
  3. Enter the Password (852255) and click “Join Meeting”

To participate by telephone:

  1. Dial either 669-254-5252 or 646-828-7666
  2. Enter the Meeting ID (160 291 5226) followed by the # key
  3. Enter # to skip Participant ID
  4. Enter the Password (852255) followed by the # key
  5. Press *6 to mute/unmute your device during the call

There is no fee to use Zoom for Government. You do not need your own Zoom account. You can check your connection or adjust your settings at https://www.zoomgov.com/test before the hearing.

Rules for participating remotely:

  1. You must connect to Zoom using either a telephone line with a clear, strong, and uninterrupted signal, or by a computer, smartphone, or tablet using an internet connection that is sufficient to provide smooth and reliable streaming.
  2. Type in your first and last name before joining the hearing. Do not use initials or any other identification. If you are participating via telephone, you must identify yourself by first and last name when prompted.
  3. You may not use a speaker phone or call from a vehicle, outdoor location, or a public place. You are responsible for silencing background noise and other distractions. If the hearing is disrupted by your line, the Court may mute your line or terminate your participation.
  4. Place your audio on mute as soon as you enter the hearing and leave it on mute until your case is called.
  5. After the Courtroom Deputy announces your case, the parties appearing will introduce themselves, beginning with the movant (in the case of the motion), and followed by the debtor, the Trustee, and other participants. You must (a) begin by stating your name. (b) speak slowly and distinctly at all times, and (c) make every effort not to interrupt others.
  6. The proceedings are recorded by the Court’s system. Recording of proceedings by individuals is prohibited. Instructions for obtaining transcripts are found on the Court’s web page.

Remote participants shall observe the practices and courtesies expected of courtroom participants.
