On a complaint by the Plaintiff seeking a determination of nondischargeability under 11 U.S.C. § 523(a) on a debt arising out of the failure to return the security deposit for a short-term property rental, held:  The Plaintiff is owed a debt of $19,644 plus reasonable attorney’s fees for the Debtor’s failure to properly comply with the relevant Cook County Residential Tenant and Landlord Ordinance sections dealing with security deposits.  While the debt owed is dischargeable under 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)(2)(A), it is nondischargeable under 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)(4).  Judgment will be entered in favor of the Debtor under Counts I and II of the Complaint, but judgment will be entered in favor of the Plaintiff under Count III of the Complaint.
