IMPORTANT CHANGES TO JUDGE HUNT’S MOTION CALL SCHEDULES (EFFECTIVE MAY 30, 2023)

The schedules for Judge Hunt’s motion calls (Chicago and Joliet) will change starting May 30, 2023.  Until then, the current schedules will remain in effect.  See below for details.

CHICAGO CALL

Starting May 30, 2023, the Chicago Call (Cook County Chapter 7 cases and all Chapter 11 cases) will continue to be held on Thursdays but will move from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Any matter filed before this announcement and noticed or scheduled for hearing at 11:00 a.m. on or after May 30, 2023, will be continued to 1:00 p.m. on the same date.  The movant need not file an amended notice of motion.

Any matter filed after this announcement and noticed for hearing at 11:00 a.m. on or after May 30, 2023, must be noticed correctly with the new date and time. Any matter filed after this announcement and noticed incorrectly will be continued to 1:00 p.m. on the same date, and the filer will have to re-notice the matter with the correct date and time.

JOLIET CALL

Starting May 30, 2023, the Joliet Call (Will, LaSalle, Kendall & Grundy County Chapter 7, 12, and 13 cases) will be held on new dates and at new times.  Instead of the first three Fridays of each month, the Joliet Call will generally be held on two Thursdays each month. For the months of June, July, and August 2023, the Joliet Call will be held on the following dates:

June 1, 2023
June 22, 2023
July 13, 2023
July 20, 2023
August 10, 2023
August 24, 2023

Motions will be heard at these times:

09:30 a.m. – Chapter 7 and 12 Original Motions and Initial Status Hearings for Adversary Proceedings
09:45 a.m. – Chapter 7 and 12 Continued Matters, Set Matters, and Involuntary Petitions
10:00 a.m. – Chapter 13 Trustee’s Motions
10:15 a.m. – Chapter 13 Original Motions and Initial Status Hearings for Adversary Proceedings
10:30 a.m. – Chapter 13 Continued Motions and Set Matters
11:00 a.m. – Chapter 13 Confirmation Hearings and Related Matters

Any matter filed before this announcement and noticed or scheduled for hearing on or after May 30, 2023, will be continued to the next date and time.  The movant need not file an amended notice of motion.
