Judge Jack B. Schmetterer - Motion/Adversary Schedule

Until further notice, all hearing dates are to be scheduled pursuant to Second Amended General Order No. 20-03 unless otherwise scheduled by the court.

COURT LANGUAGE INTERPRETER
If translator is needed for case hearing, please notify chambers immediately at (312) 435-5654 with date of hearing and type of language needed so arrangements can be made for interpreter.
Court will not supply interpreters for use at evidentiary hearings or trials.

Judge Schmetterer does not hold court on Mondays and Fridays

Judge Schmetterer will not be sitting the following dates:

 
 

Please DO NOT schedule any NON-emergency motions on the aforementioned dates. They WILL NOT BE HEARD and will require re-noticing to a date when Judge Schmetterer is holding court.

ONLY EMERGENCY MOTIONS will be heard on those dates. Please see General Order 12-01 for scheduling of any EMERGENCY MOTIONS

Minute Orders are not required on any filings.

Chapters 7 and 11

Non-Adversary Original Motions are heard on Tuesday (unless otherwise scheduled)
10:00 a.m.- Original Motions
10:30  (last Tuesday of each month) - Status Hearings on Chapter 7 Trustee's Final Report and Account and Application for Compensation. See list of dates under "Dates for Ch 7 Trustee's Final Report".

Adversary Matters are heard on Tuesday (unless otherwise scheduled)
10:00 a.m. – Original Motions
10:30 – Status hearing on return of summons
Chapter 13

Non-Adversary Original Motions are heard on Wednesday
10:00 a.m. - Original Motions, including Trustee’s Motions to Dismiss
10:30 a.m. - Set Motions
11:00 a.m. – Confirmation Call

Adversaries matters including status hearing on return of summons
Unless otherwise scheduled, these are presented Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
Involuntary Petition summons are returnable
Tuesday or Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
All Motions
1. If case is already set for something, motion should be noticed for the time already set. Otherwise, the clerk will reset new motion to time already set.
2. If noticing more than ten hearings for some morning, see Deputy Clerk to schedule them for an uncrowded day.

Notes:
If you will be setting more than ten (10) adversary status hearing dates on a bankruptcy matter, please contact the Judge's chambers for the day and time of the hearing.
