Several new and amended forms are effective December 1, 2009. Many of the forms have been revised to conform to the time deadlines contained in Bankruptcy Rule 1007. We are in the process of editing the forms to be PDF fillable and will have that process completed shortly. One of the new Official Forms that will be required is the Reaffirmation Cover Sheet, B27. This form must be completed in its entirety and filed with the reaffirmation agreement attached. It may be filed by any party to the reaffirmation agreement.

In order to permit more time with family and friends, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois will be closed on Friday, November 27, 2009 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Any matter previously set for November 27, 2009 is continued to November 30, 2009 or another date set by the judge presiding in the matter.

The repairs necessitated by the recent water leak in the Dirksen Building have been significantly completed.

Effective the week of October 12, 2009, Judge Wedoff will begin hearing all matters in his Chapter 7 cases and Chapter 11 cases on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at his regularly scheduled times.

Effective immediately, all new motions to be heard after October 12, 2009 in Judge Wedoff’s Chapter 7 and 11 cases should be noticed for Tuesdays or Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. in accordance with Judge Wedoff’s regular schedule.

Chapter 7 and 11 Cases for the Week October 5, 2009:

Motions and set matters in Judge Wedoff’s Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases to be heard during the week of October 5, 2009 will be heard on Thursday, October 8, 2009, in Judge Wedoff’s courtroom by Judge Wedoff.

Chapter 7 and 11 Cases for the Week of October 12 and later:

All new motions, status hearings, or other set matters in Judge Wedoff’s Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases now scheduled for a Tuesday or Wednesday after October 12, 2009 will be heard on the Tuesday or Wednesday on which they are scheduled.

Any motion in Judge Wedoff’s Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases that has already been noticed for a Thursday after October 12, 2009 will still be heard on the Thursday for which it was noticed (unless the movant chooses to re-notice the motion for a Tuesday or Wednesday after October 12, 2009).

Chapter 13 Call:

Judge Doyle will continue to hear Judge Wedoff’s Chapter 13 call on Thursdays at the regularly scheduled times until further notice.

On Friday, October 2nd 2009 CM/ECF at 4:00 PM CDT CM/ECF will be upgraded to a new hardware platform. This upgrade, among many things, will address the performance issues many have experienced with the recent increase in case filings.
